The State’s traditional industries are making room for new advancements and opportunities in the biotechnology sectors.  Monsanto has pioneered Life Sciences work in plant research.  Today they are joined by other research institutions such as the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, and the University of Missouri Life Sciences Center.  Pioneering medical research is being conducted by the Stowers Institute for Medical Research and Washington University.  Dedicated to the Growth and Development of the Missouri biotechnology and biomedical industry is the Missouri Biotechnology Association.
